Research trip to Spain

In June 2010, the annual study trip organised by the Mustela Foundation took place in Madrid, in Spain. 12 French Early Childhood Professionals took part in it.
The programme included:
- a presentation of social paediatrics in Spain by María Teresa Benítez, the national head of social paediatrics (Paediatrician and Technical Advisor of the Public Health Institute) and a presentation of the public health policy by Sagrario Mateu, the head of department of Women’s and Children’s Health;
- visits to La Paz Hospital (notably the neonatology and obstetrics departments) and the University Hospital of Fuenlabrada, “the children’s friend” (obstetric emergencies and delivery room, neonatology and hospitalisation);
- and lastly, visits to La Moraleja Private Hospital and the Millenium Childbirth Preparation Centre.
We would like you to share this experience with three professionals who took part in the trip:
- Elisabeth Viseux-Wahl, midwife, Director of the Midwifery School at Foch Hospital in Paris
- Sophie Guillaume, midwife, Senior Health Executive at Necker Hospital for Sick Children in Paris
- Maria-Marta Comte Desuque, consultant paediatrician at Port-Royal Hospital, private paediatric practitioner and nursery paediatrician
