The Mustela Foundation 2009 Awards ceremony took place at the Musée de l’Orangerie in Paris in front of a hundred guests: child health professionals, members of the juries, prize winners and journalists.

The 2009 Social Paediatrics award (€10,000) went to Doctor Florence GUIDANI-ROMAIN, a doctor working in small and medium sized companies in Jassans-Riottier (the department of Ain) for her project in collaboration with the ADESSA Association – Ain Health Education: Making families aware of the problems associated with children’s pace of life and the repercussions on both the child’s development and family equilibrium or social integration”;.

Two scientific grants were also awarded. The first one for the sum of €4,600 to Christelle GOSME for her doctorate on “Bonding and visual impairment” and the second one for the sum of €11,000 to Véronique MIRLESSE for her public health thesis entitled, “Anticipating dealing with a handicap in the prenatal diagnosis”.

And, last but not least, the research-action award went to Doctor Valérie GAREZ for her project, "The future needs attending to now: it is better to spot maternal vulnerabilities during pregnancy in order to deal them and prevent potential difficulties in mother-baby interaction”, which will be undertaken as part of the prenatal psychiatric mobile unit (PPUMMA) of the Hauts-de-Seine area with maternity clinics belonging to this network.
